‘GET OUT’ Plein air workshop, June 7- 8, 2025

It was a two day ‘plein air’ workshop held in Piper’s Lagoon, Bowen Park and Yellow Point-arguably the best plein air locations in the mid island, Nanaimo Area. We were blessed with two sunny days. The group was full of energy and commitment creating a wonderful atmosphere and spirit for painting on location. We covered the importance of direct observation, the limitation of materials and the idea of compressed time. Surprise is why we’re out there and painting is the tool to express new ways of seeing and stretching a painter’s vocabulary.
